Abstract: | Enterprise Content Management (ECM) is the strategies, methods and tools used to capture, manage, store, preserve, and deliver content and documents related to organizational processes. ECM tools and strategies allow the management of an organization's unstructured information, wherever that information exists. ECM is a solution that organizations use to unite teams, content and associated business processes. ECM guides the people in an organization through all the stages of work, from the initial discussion and planning, design, production, marketing, sales, service, and corporate administration by providing an integrated set of content, compliance, and collaboration solutions. Alfresco, an open source ECM software has been used to deploy a fully comprehensive Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS) at the Food Research Institute of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR-FRI). The ECMS is capable of providing Document Management, Collaboration, Records Management, Knowledge Management, Web Content Management and Imaging. This User Manual is designed to support Users getting started to use the FRI Enterprise Content Management System Implementation |
