Report on training workshop on developing and managing institutional repositories using agridrupal and agriocean Dspace tools held in CSIR-INSTI, Accra from 1st-4th July 2013

Abstract

The report is on the training workshop on developing and managing institutional repositories using Agridrupal and AgriOcean DSpace Tools that was organized by the FAO Regional Office for Africa, in collaboration with the CSIR Institute for Scientific and Technological Information from 1st – 4th July 2013, at the CSIR-INSTI, Accra, Ghana. The workshop was to equip member institutions of Ghana Agricultural Information Network Systems (GAINS) with the skills to enable them to use Agridrupal and AgriOcean DSpace in the management of their digital institutional repositories of research outputs. Overall, over Twenty (20) participants attended the training workshop. Institutional repositories are rapidly making their way into the scientific communications pipe line and have become very essential mode of accessing and sharing the information. Research Institutions who generate a lot of knowledge and research outputs can build Institutional repositories that would be made publicly available to a wider audience
